The Nizhny Novgorod Aviation Plant "Sokol" may become a collective use center for the production of aircraft and their components. This proposal was voiced by OAK head Vadim Badeha during a round table dedicated to the development of light aviation at the enterprise.
According to him, the corporation proposed a new mechanism for interaction with the light aviation industry, which will help developers more actively advance their projects.
We propose to create a collective use center at the Nizhny Novgorod Plant "Sokol" for the production of aircraft and their components, and for their testing. But we are not limited to "Sokol" and production issues – we also have engineering resources to ensure the certification of aircraft.
It should be noted that "Sokol" is primarily known as the developer of MiG-31 long-range interceptor fighters. Currently, the plant specializes in the repair and modernization of all aircraft of the "MiG" family, as noted by the Rostec state corporation.
In addition, "Sokol" has launched the assembly of fuselage parts for the new MS-21-310 airliner.
