The production of the light multi-purpose aircraft "Akkord-201" in Russia may resume after the appearance of a domestic engine for this machine. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, during an exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod.
According to the minister, the "Akkord-201" presented at the exhibition is awaiting Russian engines, after the installation of which the developers expect to return to the production of the aircraft. Manufacturers are also considering the Nizhny Novgorod Aircraft Plant "Sokol" as a site for mechanical processing of parts and aggregate assembly.
"Akkord-201" was developed by NPO "Avia LTD". The aircraft made its first flight on July 17, 1997, and in 2007 received type certificate ST265-Akkord-201. The Federal Air Transport Agency lists this machine in the register of certified civil aviation equipment.
The aircraft is designed for seven people and was equipped with two engines with a power of 210 hp each. The maximum speed was declared at 302 km/h, and the range was up to 3400 km. Copies of "Akkord-201" manufactured at the "Sokol" plant are preserved in the registers. Now the project can get a new stage of development due to Russian power plants.
