Unlimited data on trips: Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan among leaders for Russians

Analysts compared urban and beach destinations

Russians most often connect to unlimited mobile internet in the UAE – 87% of travelers do so, according to analysts from eSIM.World, who studied anonymized data on tourist eSIMs for the first half of 2026.

In Japan, France, and Kyrgyzstan, the share is 68% each, in Uzbekistan – 67%, and in Hong Kong and Kazakhstan – 66% each. The type of trip influences the choice: 62% of tourists connect to unlimited data for urban trips, while 51% do so for beach destinations. At the same time, plans with 10 GB or more remain popular with 82% of urban travelers and 79% of resort vacationers.

The duration of the trip does not always determine the choice: in Vietnam, where many trips last two weeks or longer, 37% of tourists choose a 10 GB package, and only 32% opt for unlimited data. In neighboring countries and during business trips, 27% of users limit themselves to packages up to 10 GB – which is enough for messaging, navigation, email, and ordering transport. The study is based on data from tourist eSIM connections from January to June 2026.
