Will pensions be transferred to digital ruble? State Duma gave an answer

The mass introduction of the digital ruble does not mean a mandatory transition to this form of payments, said Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, to TASS. According to him, the forced transfer of pensions, salaries and social benefits is not even being discussed.

The digital ruble will only be an additional option that can be used voluntarily. Pensions can now be received both on a card and in cash through a postman, and this choice will remain. Technically, each digital ruble is a unique digital code stored in the client's electronic wallet. The wallets themselves are located on the digital ruble platform created by the Bank of Russia.

The platform belongs to the Central Bank, not a commercial bank, which frees individuals and businesses from being tied to the conditions, limits, and commissions of a specific organization. Operations are free for citizens, and minimal tariffs apply to businesses. To start using digital rubles, it is enough to register on the platform through your bank's mobile application.

From September 1, the section will appear in the applications of the largest banks, and by September 2028, all credit organizations will join the platform. The digital ruble will not replace cash and non-cash money, but will complement them.
