The production company "Azimut" (part of Rostec) installed the ILS 2700 instrumental landing system at Grozny airport. The equipment helps aircraft safely approach for landing in difficult weather conditions, including limited visibility.
The ILS 2700 system generates radio signals that onboard equipment uses to determine the aircraft's position relative to the runway. It transmits data to the crew about deviations from the course and glideslope – the calculated descent trajectory during approach. This allows for precise maintenance of direction and descent angle.
Previously, "Azimut" installed the "Galaktika" air traffic control automation complex, the RMP-200 radio beacon, the AORL-AMI 2700 radar, the DF 2000 automatic radio direction finder, the TRS 2000 transceiver center, and a comprehensive air traffic controller simulator in Grozny. The introduction of ILS 2700 completes the comprehensive project to equip the airport with domestic air navigation equipment.
