Over 1.5 million Russians have submitted applications to participate in remote electronic voting (DEG) for the September State Duma elections. This was announced by the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova.
Another 375.8 thousand people submitted applications through the "Mobile Voter" service. It allows voting at any polling station if a person is not at their place of registration on election day. Applications through this service are still being accepted.
The remote electronic voting system will be used in 32 regions of Russia during the elections of State Duma deputies. They will be held simultaneously with regional and municipal elections.
Applications for participation in DEG can be submitted until September 14, 23:59 Moscow time.
Electronic voting will take place from 8:00 on September 18 to 20:00 on September 20, local time in the regions of Russia.
