"Yandex Music" has confirmed plans to inform listeners about the use of artificial intelligence in track creation, Izvestia reports. The service is already collecting data from rights holders and discussing the display format.
This refers to labeling within the track card, not creating a separate section. According to experts, the share of compositions with signs of AI in the catalog already exceeds 36%. The exact form of the label depends on the amount of data received from rights holders.
Artists and producers have mixed feelings about the initiative. Some support it, believing that listeners should see where the sound is live and where it is machine-generated. Others suggest separating neuromusic into distinct playlists and charts. Experts advise limiting it to a label and a filter in the settings – similar to how explicit content is marked.
Foreign services are already implementing similar mechanisms: Spotify will mark AI personas starting in September, and Deezer automatically identifies fully generated tracks. "Yandex Music" has so far launched the editorial playlist "Lyudi IIskusstva" (People of AIrt), but the question of neuromusic authorship remains open.
