Specialists from the Moscow company "STEKCOM" installed KNS Z10MK4 and Intellian v130NX antennas on the expedition vessel "Linssi" and the push tug "Varna" to ensure the operation of the VSAT satellite communication system. The equipment was ordered by the Lomonosov Center for Marine Research.
Broadband internet access and telephony will be available on board the vessel. The crews of "Linssi" and "Varna" will be able to maintain communication with coastal infrastructure during research in the Ob Bay in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
The expedition vessel "Linssi" was built in 1978 in Finland. It is distinguished by its shallow draft, which is especially important when conducting hydrographic work in shallow waters.
