"Sber" has canceled fees for transfers between its clients and for utility payments within its application. Previously, it was possible to transfer up to 50,000 rubles per month without commission, and some utility payments incurred a fee. As emphasized by the bank's press service, these restrictions have now been lifted, and clients can send any amounts to each other without additional charges.
The decision is based on an analysis of 150 million anonymized messages that users left during transfers over the past year, the bank explained. In 68% of cases, such operations were related to support, attention, or assistance.
About a third of transfers were to family members, and approximately another 20% were for mutual aid between friends. In 8% of cases, money was sent as a gift.
The most frequent message during a transfer was "thank you" – users wrote it about 18 million times. Congratulations appeared more than 12 million times, and declarations of love about 3 million times.
Utility payments have also become free by default. This does not require additional subscriptions or special conditions, "Sber" emphasized.
The bank noted that operations continue to be checked by automated security systems. According to "Sber", since the beginning of 2026, such measures have helped prevent the theft of over 180 billion rubles.
