Fire at Komsomolsk Refinery: What is known so far

The fire was caused by depressurization of a column, but the technological process continued without interruption

A fire broke out at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur oil refinery after a column in one of the workshops depressurized. The fire was quickly extinguished, and there were no casualties. This was reported by the government of Khabarovsk Krai.

According to the enterprise, the fire did not lead to a halt in production. The Komsomolsk Refinery continues to produce fuel at full capacity, and no deviations in the technological process or shipment of petroleum products have been recorded.

To eliminate the consequences, 45 firefighters and 13 units of equipment were dispatched to the site.

After the fire was extinguished, repair work began at the plant. They plan to complete it by the end of the day.

A commission has also been formed at the enterprise to establish the circumstances of the incident. According to the refinery, no exceedances of maximum permissible concentrations of harmful substances were detected.

The Komsomolsk Refinery is one of the largest suppliers of petroleum products in the Far East. The enterprise belongs to Rosneft.
