The Ozon marketplace has started testing its own AI assistant, which will help buyers choose products. For now, the new function is available to a limited number of users and is primarily aimed at those who have not yet decided on a purchase.
The assistant works based on anonymized Ozon data. To form recommendations, it analyzes search queries, purchase history, user reviews, and current product prices.
To use the new function, simply switch to a special AI mode. After that, a chat opens where the virtual assistant asks clarifying questions. For example, it can inquire about the budget, desired product characteristics, or the tasks for which the purchase is planned.
Based on the answers, the AI selects the most suitable options. It takes into account not only the cost of goods but also delivery times, user ratings, and reviews from other buyers, the company said.
