Runet hit by massive outage: marketplaces, banks, and messengers stopped opening

The problems simultaneously affected Ozon, Wildberries, T-Bank, RZD, ivi, and other services

Users from various regions of Russia massively encountered problems with popular websites and applications. Complaints simultaneously came in for Ozon, Wildberries, Yandex, Avito, RZD, T-Bank, Gazprombank, Rostelecom, ivi, Roblox, Pikabu, the Max messenger, and other services. Some users also reported disruptions in Telegram.

The most noticeable surge in complaints was recorded for Ozon: according to Detector 404, over a thousand complaints were received within an hour, and the malfunctions could have affected up to 60 thousand people. Over 400 complaints were made about Rostelecom's operations, potentially affecting up to 40 thousand users. On Sboy.rf, the ivi online cinema led with over 1300 reports.

Rostelecom confirmed a brief malfunction in the data transmission network. It lasted 29 minutes and affected the availability of some internet resources. Traffic was promptly redirected to backup equipment, after which the infrastructure returned to normal operation.

Beeline and MegaFon reported normal network operations. A source in the telecom market suggested that some of the problems could be related to Akamai's international infrastructure, but this version has not been officially confirmed.

The cause of the simultaneous outages across all affected platforms has not yet been definitively established. The sheer volume of complaints indicates that the problem might not have been within individual services, but rather in one of the common sections of the network infrastructure.
