The Kursk Accumulator Plant (KAZ) has expanded its production capacity: investments in the project exceeded 380 million rubles, of which 300 million rubles in the form of a preferential loan were provided by the federal Industrial Development Fund (IDF) under the "Labor Productivity Improvement" program, the IDF press service told "Pervy Tekhnichesky".
With these funds, the plant purchased 16 units of modern equipment: a semi-automatic assembly line, a forming system, a soldering machine, a paste mixer, a drying unit, compressor and refrigeration equipment, as well as automated quality control units. The enterprise re-equipped key areas: the production of lead electrodes, assembly and formation of batteries.
After reaching full capacity, KAZ will increase the production of starter lead-acid batteries by 20% - from 1.5 to 1.8 million units per year. In addition, the plant will annually produce up to 300 thousand premium batteries with a nominal capacity of 50 to 110 Ah.
KAZ starter batteries are supplied to the conveyors of KamAZ, Ural, Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant and other automakers. The main raw materials - lead, polypropylene and sulfuric acid - are purchased from Russian suppliers, the level of product localization is 100%.
