LOMO opens a diamond tool manufacturing section for civilian and military optics processing

Equipment of domestic production was supplied to the enterprise, which is part of the Russian OPK

Employees of the Leningrad Optical-Mechanical Association named after Lenin (AO "LOMO", part of the Kalashnikov Concern) have commissioned a diamond tool manufacturing section. The equipment is necessary for the production of optical products, the concern's press service reported.

Russian-made machines were purchased for the new section. The workshop houses a new galvanic line, a press, high-temperature furnaces, vibro-analyzers, and turbulent mixers.

LOMO employees will produce diamond tools for contract tasks. This is especially important for the production of high-quality optical products, where special precision is required.

The enterprise's product line includes a wide range of optical and optoelectronic devices for civilian and military purposes. St. Petersburg specialists produce microscopes, endoscopes, telescopes, and cinematographic lenses.

In addition, LOMO produces periscopes for submarines (PAU-22, PER-27, PER-166U), aircraft and tank sights, aiming devices (for ZPRK "Tunguska", ZSU "Shilka"), individual night vision sights ("Maugli-2" and "Maugli-2M").
