A trial vacuum pull on the turbine unit was successfully completed at the first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP under construction in Turkey. The work was carried out by specialists involved in the commissioning of the plant's equipment.
The tests lasted about six hours. During this time, the necessary vacuum was created in the turbine condenser, confirming the system's readiness for subsequent steam reception from the steam generators.
During the check, specialists assessed the tightness of the vacuum system and the thermomechanical condition of the turbine unit. In addition, when the turbine was rotated on the turning gear, it was confirmed that the working blades were functioning normally.
The successful completion of the tests allows for the transition to the next stage of commissioning work in the machine hall. Now, specialists will have to check the gas tightness of the turbine generator.
