Chelyabinsk engineers developed an unmanned fighter to protect airfields

The aircraft will hit aerial targets with ordinary hunting cartridges

Designers from Chelyabinsk, Sergey Kiselev and Dmitry Nefedov, have developed an unusual unmanned aerial vehicle designed to protect airfields from unauthorized aerial objects. The design was registered in the Rospatent database.

The miniature fighter will be able to destroy aerial targets using ordinary hunting cartridges, but without the usual recoil that could disrupt the flight.

The aircraft is designed to combat balloons, weather balloons, and other objects that may be in the take-off and landing zone of aircraft. Today, such targets often have to be hit from the ground, but the effective firing range is limited to approximately 150 m.

The main feature of the new design is the recoil compensation system. After a shot, the barrel and bolt simultaneously move in the opposite direction, so that the impulse is practically not transmitted to the drone itself.
