Cash will be accepted by another bank's ATM: account top-ups via SBP to be launched in Russia

Up to 25 thousand rubles will be allowed per transaction, but banks may charge a commission

Starting from October 1, 2026, Russians will be able to top up their accounts via another bank's ATM. Funds will be credited using the Faster Payments System (SBP), but the new service will only be available in those credit organizations that choose to connect it.

For example, a client will be able to deposit cash into one bank's ATM and send it to their own account in another. It will not be possible to transfer money this way to a relative, friend, or another person – the recipient must be the user themselves.

Limits will be set for operations: no more than 25 thousand rubles per transaction, 50 thousand per day, and 200 thousand per month. These restrictions will apply separately from the limits on regular transfers via SBP.

Cash top-ups will not be considered a transfer between accounts. Therefore, the free limit of 30 million rubles for self-transfers and the benefit of up to 100 thousand rubles for sending money to other people will not apply to it.

Banks will be able to independently determine the terms of the service and charge a commission in accordance with the agreement with the client. Therefore, before depositing cash, the user will have to check whether the function is connected and how much the operation will cost.
