In Krasnoyarsk, the production of "Varyag" all-wheel drive all-terrain vehicles has been organized. The vehicle was designed specifically for rapid response to emergencies in conditions of complete off-road. Visually, it vaguely resembles the Soviet GAZ-66 truck, but with a modern cabin.
Thanks to 4x4 or 6x6 wheel formulas (depending on the modification), reduced weight, and low-pressure tires, the vehicle can traverse deep snow, soft ground, and rough terrain. Tires with automatic inflation allow changing pressure on the go, and due to positive buoyancy, the all-terrain vehicle can even swim across a body of water.
The all-terrain vehicles are built on a reinforced base of domestic trucks - GAZ or "Ural". This is expected to simplify the search for spare parts and maintenance. The "Varyag" company declares a full production cycle: from design and production to testing and maintenance.
Four-wheel all-terrain vehicles are equipped with Cummins ISF 3.8 turbocharged diesel engines with 152 horsepower, can carry up to 3 tons of cargo, and boast a ground clearance of 600 millimeters - with such clearance and an approach angle of 57 degrees, they hardly need roads.
Six-wheel modifications are even more spacious. The cabin is designed for 22 passengers, and the payload reaches four tons. A range of one and a half thousand kilometers allows for autonomous raids away from civilization.
The production time for one vehicle at the enterprise is ten working days. The produced samples are used in Chukotka, the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, and Yakutia.
