The Russian Armed Forces shoot down enemy drones without explosives – with a simple and hard ram. The Molniya-PVO interceptor simply crashes into a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone at a speed of almost 300 km/h and smashes it to pieces.
Such a "bird" can be assembled in 10 minutes. Its flight range is about 15 km, cruising speed is 120 km/h, and when diving at a target, the kamikaze accelerates to 300 km/h. This is what allows it to destroy enemy equipment without a warhead.
The Molniya-PVO was developed to combat aircraft-type UAVs – attack and reconnaissance drones. If necessary, it can also shoot down a heavy copter like "Baba Yaga", but the main task is attack "aircraft", says the Molniya-PVO operator with the call sign Ivanych.
The altitude at which the operators fly is standard for enemy aircraft-type UAVs. These are what the interceptors hunt for.
