The new UAZ "Profi" has not yet gone on sale in Russia, but has already been sent for testing in Egypt. The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is testing the car in real operating conditions and is considering the possibility of starting mass deliveries to Africa.
The first vehicles have already been delivered to Egypt for a test program. As reported by the enterprise, light commercial vehicles are currently undergoing checks and must prove themselves in hot and tropical climates.
The company clarified that this refers to a limited batch of vehicles. Moreover, not the current version of the model was sent to Egypt, but an updated UAZ "Profi" with LED optics, sales of which in Russia will begin only in the autumn.
According to preliminary feedback, the cooling and air conditioning systems are operating normally.
Another model, the UAZ "Pickup", is expected to join the tests soon.
In autumn, along with the updated "Profi", restyled versions of the "Patriot" and "Pickup" SUVs are also expected to debut. They will receive LED optics, an updated interior with a new domestically produced steering wheel, and a 2.0-liter diesel engine with 136 horsepower and a new six-speed manual transmission.
In addition to Egypt, the company is also considering entering the Ethiopian market. In early 2026, plans were announced to open a local assembly plant there.
