The Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region satisfied the claim of JSC "Okskaya Shipyard" against the German company Schottel Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung, ruling to recover 2.9986 million euros in debt and 1.82 million rubles in legal costs from the defendant.
According to the case materials, the German company was supposed to supply equipment for tunnel thrusters to the customer's facility, but failed to fulfill its obligations. After the disruption of the supply, Okskaya Shipyard demanded the return of the transferred advance payment, but these demands remained unsatisfied, which became the basis for going to court.
Okskaya Shipyard is considered one of the largest Russian civil shipbuilding enterprises. The shipyard specializes in the construction of modern dry cargo vessels of mixed river-sea navigation class, including the popular dry cargo ships of project RSD59.
RSD59 project vessels are among the largest dry cargo ships that can operate on Russia's inland waterways. They are designed for transporting various types of bulk, general, and container cargo, and their design allows for efficient operation on both river routes and in sea areas.
By court decision, the German supplier was also ordered to pay state duty expenses in the amount of 1.821 million rubles. The decision can be appealed in the manner prescribed by law.
