Russia is preparing support measures for developers of digital twins used in industry. The Ministry of Digital Development is working on a system of state regulation and support for domestic software solutions in this area.
To assess market opportunities, the ministry initiated a special study conducted by the National Research University Higher School of Economics. A roadmap has already been prepared, which includes proposals for the development of solutions for creating digital twins, as well as recommendations for working with industrial data, financial support for developers, and improving standards and regulatory frameworks.
At the same time, the Ministry of Digital Development emphasized that this document is currently an expert assessment, not an approved action plan. Specific timelines and implementation parameters will be determined later – after consultations with industrial companies, software developers, and government agencies.
Digital twins allow the creation of virtual models of equipment, infrastructure facilities, and finished products. With their help, it is possible to predict equipment wear in advance, optimize production processes, improve product quality, and test various scenarios without risk to real production.
