A new highly automated production of wheels for trucks and agricultural machinery is being prepared for launch in Tolyatti. "Zavod stalnykh koles" (Steel Wheel Plant), which already produces over 1.5 million stamped discs per year for passenger cars, is expanding its product line. Trial production is scheduled for the end of 2026, and serial production will start in the third quarter of 2027.
The total investment exceeds 1.5 billion rubles, of which 800 million was provided by the Industrial Development Fund. The line is currently being equipped, and the finished workshop will create more than 120 jobs. Governor of Samara Oblast Vyacheslav Fedorishchev assessed the preparations at the site and discussed the launch schedule and sales prospects with the plant management.
The project meets the agricultural sector's demand for domestic wheels, which was previously covered by imports. Localizing production at a plant with an existing output of 1.5 million discs per year allows for rapid scaling of the technology. This is part of a broader trend: the Industrial Development Fund systematically invests in capital-intensive import substitution projects for agricultural machinery components.
