Set a new record: UK-25/25 self-propelled cranes laid 10 km 200 m of rail-sleeper track in 24 hours

Special equipment manufactured by the Kalugaputmash plant was not stopped during the work

UK-25/25 self-propelled track-laying cranes manufactured by Kalugaputmash set a record on the Northern Railway in the Kostroma region. On the section between Neya and Brantovka stations, 10 km 200 m of rail-sleeper track was laid in 24 hours. This was reported by the press service of the Sinara – Transport Machines holding.

This was done without stopping traffic: trains ran on an adjacent track. 8 track-laying cranes and more than 400 specialists were involved in the large-scale work.

The UK-25/25 performs a huge amount of work in a short time. For example, in 2024, during the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline, the track-laying crane laid 8.1 km of track. The result was included in the Russian Book of Records.

The UK-25/25 is the main machine of track-laying and track-dismantling complexes. The crane lays railway track in sections 25 m long and weighing 25 tons.

Special equipment is equipped with video cameras, monitors, a radio control panel, and automatic traverses. One of these cranes is used at the Olenegorsk Mining and Processing Plant in the Murmansk region.
