The likely transfer of the Russian S-400 anti-aircraft complex from Turkey to one of the countries in the Middle East may ultimately play into the hands of the "Triumf". The prospects for the missile system were explained by air defense forces historian and military analyst Yury Knutov.
According to him, after being withdrawn from Turkey, the system will begin to protect the airspace of one of the Arab countries.
Patriot air defense systems are also located there. And if it turns out that the Russian complex proves more effective than the American one, then, I think, the number of orders for the S-400 from Arab countries will increase. More countries in the region will want to buy it.
Knutov recalled India's experience, which purchased several S-400 complexes, and they ultimately performed excellently during Operation "Sindhur" and even set a record for engagement range. Now the republic wants to purchase new "Triumfs" from Russia.
Media reported that Turkish S-400s could be transferred to the UAE or Qatar. Currently, the American Patriot air defense system serves as the primary air defense for most Arab monarchies. The complexes are in service with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain.
In recent months alone, the US has approved new agreements for the supply of Patriot missiles to these countries worth over $37 billion.
Earlier, "Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy" compiled a rating of the world's longest-range air defense systems. The S-400 "Triumf" is capable of striking at a distance of up to 380 km, but only with the use of the 40N6E missile.
