Almost a third (29%) of motorists in Russia plan to buy another car in the next one to two years. On average, they are willing to pay about 2.2 million rubles for it, according to a study by Avito.
Most often, another car is needed for independent movement of family members.
According to the study, 25% of respondents plan to purchase a second car, another 4% already own two or more cars and are considering buying another one.
Most often, 37% of respondents aged 25 to 34 are considering buying a car, 36% are in the 18 to 24 age group, and 12% are over 65.
Used or from a dealership
Almost half of potential buyers (46%) intend to choose a used car, 43% — a new one from a dealership, and the rest are considering both options. The purpose of the purchase is the desire to have a car of a different class or with a different body type (24%), the need for another car for specific tasks (20%), or a vehicle for travel and outdoor recreation (18%).
About 54% of respondents expect a budget of up to 2 million rubles, while 20% of respondents are willing to pay from 2 to 3 million rubles. 14% of Russians plan to buy a car costing from 2 to 3 million rubles, and only 8% plan to buy one for more than 5 million rubles.
