Developer of S-500 "Prometey" Found New Partners

Obukhovsky Plant set a course for new material research after a loan of 234 million rubles

The Obukhovsky Plant, which develops the S-500 "Prometey" anti-aircraft missile system, has signed a cooperation agreement with Izhevsk State Technical University named after M.T. Kalashnikov. The parties will begin to work together in technical and technological fields.

The enterprise and the university plan to conduct joint R&D in the field of developing and researching promising materials.

The Obukhovsky Plant is part of the Almaz-Antey Concern and manufactures launchers for the S-500 on multi-axle heavy wheeled chassis BAZ.

Recently, the Supervisory Board of the St. Petersburg Industrial Development Fund approved a loan of 234.2 million rubles to the Obukhovsky Plant for the modernization of its own production.

VKO "Almaz-Antey" is also looking for partners to service air defense systems not only in Russia, but also abroad.
