Tolyatti has launched Russia's first serial production of modern automotive lighting with a solid LED rear bar for the new Lada Azimut crossover. The new enterprise in the "Tolyatti" special economic zone was opened by "Lighting Solutions" company, which already supplies components for AvtoVAZ vehicles.
Investments in the project amounted to 1.9 billion rubles. The site will produce a full range of exterior optics for Lada Azimut: LED headlights, daytime running lights, taillights, fog lights, and an original rear light panel spanning the entire width of the car.
The main feature of the production is the installation of a thermoplastic injection molding machine with a clamping force of 2800 tons. The equipment allows for the creation of large body lighting elements using a three-component molding method. It will be used to produce a solid LED bar, 1400 mm long, which will become one of the prominent design elements of the new crossover.
According to the company, this technology is being used for the first time in Russia for the mass production of such a large LED component.
The capacity of the new line is designed to produce up to 80 thousand sets of automotive lighting annually. This volume should be sufficient to support the serial production of Lada Azimut.
