A new version of the Geran-4 Siker attack drone has begun to be used to engage naval targets and moving objects. The device received a target search system, as well as an enhanced warhead, which expanded the capabilities of the Russian attack UAV family.
Unlike devices that operate only on pre-set coordinates, the new modification is capable of correcting the attack at the final stage of flight.
The key advantage of the drone lies in its ability to find targets and use a powerful warhead. This allows the device to be used against objects that may change their location during the mission. This solution makes the drone more flexible compared to traditional strike systems that follow a fixed route.
Drones, despite having a smaller warhead power compared to specialized anti-ship missiles, have significant advantages. They are significantly cheaper to produce and can be manufactured in large quantities, making them widely accessible. In addition, drones are effective against targets for which the use of expensive missile systems may be impractical.
