Specialists of the Kazan scientific and production enterprise (NPP) "Aisberg" have developed protective modules for insulating pipe penetrations with diameters from 15 to 1020 mm through decks and bulkheads of ships. The equipment received a type approval certificate for a ship's fire protection structure, the press service of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping reported.
The document confirms the compliance of the protective modules (pipe penetrations) "Aisberg TCHOG-P" and "Aisberg TCHOG-U" of fire resistance types H-0, H-60, and H-120 with the requirements of the Register's rules.
The protective module consists of several parts made using non-combustible insulating material for fire protection. The material also received a Type Approval Certificate.
The development of NPP "Aisberg" is part of the structural (passive) fire protection system for general ship systems. In case of a fire on the ship, the module prevents the fire from quickly spreading to adjacent compartments.
Russian shipyards previously purchased protective modules for pipe penetrations abroad. Supplies came from Great Britain, South Korea, and Germany. However, due to sanctions, manufacturers of ship equipment had to develop such solutions from scratch.
