Potential Su-57E buyer offered Korean fighters

Indonesia may buy KF-21 instead of Russian aircraft

South Korea has offered Indonesia to purchase 16 KF-21 Boramae fighters for $2 billion. If the deal goes through, the KF-21 will occupy the niche that Russia had hoped for with its export Su-57E.

Prior to this, Indonesia had planned to participate in the modernization of the KF-21, but the parties failed to reach an agreement. Now, it seems the republic will buy the fighters "off the shelf."

This information is important for Russia because earlier media reports indicated Indonesia's interest in the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter program.

Russia received an application from the republic for the supply of weapons and military equipment for the period from 2025 to 2030.

Among the current offers from Rosoboronexport are fifth-generation Su-57E and 4++ generation Su-35 aircraft, as well as Il-78MK-90A tankers, Ka-52E helicopters, Mi-17 type vehicles, and drones.
