Specialists from the St. Petersburg company "Navis" have created the AP5000 ship course and trajectory control system. The hardware and software complex has been added to the register of industrial products of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. This was reported by the developer's press service.
AP5000 is a modern adaptive autopilot (controls the steering gear). The system can be used on vessels of any type and purpose: from yachts to large-tonnage cargo ships with variable draft.
Development features:
- compatibility with multiple rudders, azimuth thrusters and waterjet propulsion systems
- easy integration, including with a bow thruster
- supports Soviet electro-hydraulic steering gear control systems such as "Aist" and "Pechora"
- monitors the operation of the steering gear and corrects the rudder turning algorithm
The AP5000 hardware and software complex includes a control panel, a main control unit, and a sensor system. The autopilot has received type approval certificates from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) and the Russian Classification Society (RKO).
