Brain Health Maintenance Technologies to be Developed by the Union of Theatre Workers, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Science, and FMBA

The government document emphasizes prevention and healthy aging

Russia is launching a program to preserve brain health and develop cognitive functions, TASS reported. The government document involves the introduction of technologies for diagnosing, preventing, and eliminating neurodegenerative disorders.

The task was assigned to the Ministry of Health, FMBA, and the Ministry of Education and Science, but the Union of Theatre Workers unexpectedly appeared on the list of executors. Specific roles are not disclosed, but the theatre's participation indicates a search for unconventional methods of cognitive rehabilitation – through creativity, stage speech, and plasticity.

The focus is on prevention and healthy aging. Neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia, are becoming one of the main causes of disability among the elderly today. Medicine cannot yet cure them but can delay their onset – this is what the program aims for. The responsible departments will present the results of their work in a report to the government.
