Altaivagon has received a patent for a utility model – a covered freight wagon with a retractable roof. The development is designed for transporting goods that require protection from precipitation, while the roof allows the wagon to be loaded from above.
In the new design, the roof tightly overlaps the side walls, which prevents moisture and dust from entering. Hermeticity is ensured by a threshold on the roof and fasteners that press the roof against the body.
According to the developer, this solution is especially important when transporting bulk cargo and goods sensitive to external conditions. The wagon can be used on public railways.
