Russian military uniform turned out to be Chinese: Kalashnikov uncovered a scam

Former top manager of the concern, Pankin, is accused of fraud amounting to almost 100 million rubles

Military uniforms, which according to documents were supposed to be manufactured in Russia, actually came from China. According to the investigation, this scheme was used by the former Deputy General Director of the Kalashnikov Concern, Sergey Pankin, when fulfilling contracts for NII Stali.

Fabric elements of protective kits, including covers for equipment and helmet covers, were purchased from Chinese suppliers at a significantly lower price than declared.

To organize supplies, as reported, Pankin's controlled company "Eurostar" was used. The total damage in the case is estimated at almost 100 million rubles.

According to the investigation, in January 2026, Pankin signed a contract and went to military service. It was assumed that it would end in late July, but the man returned early due to health reasons.

On July 15, he was detained in Moscow, after which he was charged with large-scale fraud.
