The "Pautina" protective complex presented by Rostec for the defense of factories, oil refineries, and energy infrastructure from drones will not be able to ensure complete safety of facilities. This opinion was expressed by military expert Yury Knutov.
Rostec noted that "Pautina" can withstand a direct hit from a drone weighing up to 200 kg at a speed of 250 km/h. However, according to Knutov, one cannot rely solely on such protection.
"Pautina" will enhance the protection of various objects, but it will not make them invulnerable. They must operate in conjunction with mobile fire groups and electronic warfare systems or "Pantsir" SAM systems, "Tor" SAM systems.
Knutov reminded that aircraft-type drones can have a significantly greater mass. Let us recall that the new modular design is assembled without welding and is attached with bolted connections.
