OOO "Chelyabinsk Plant of Electrical Equipment" has completed the second stage of equipment supply for updating the energy infrastructure of the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant. Eight sets of vacuum circuit breakers and relay protection units were sent to the enterprise, which will allow modernizing existing switchgears without completely replacing electrical installations.
The supply was carried out as part of the KRAZ equipment retrofit project — updating individual components of existing systems while maintaining the main structure. This solution will extend the service life of complete switchgears (KRU), increase the reliability of power supply, and reduce costs compared to a complete equipment replacement.
The supplied kits included vacuum circuit breakers with spring-motor drives for 1000 A, as well as stationary devices for 2000 and 3150 A. In addition, ChZEO manufactured relay compartments with modern protection and automation systems, including BMRZ-152-E-KS3-61 units, arc protection devices, electricity meters, and multifunctional measuring complexes.
The plant also supplied sets of disconnectors, light signaling fittings, and a prefabricated single-sided KSO-366 Sion chamber. All equipment is prepared for installation into the existing infrastructure of the enterprise.
The main feature of the project is the precise adaptation of new components to existing electrical installations. Before manufacturing, ChZEO specialists conducted an inspection of the facility and performed the necessary measurements so that the new withdrawable elements and protection systems fully corresponded to the existing KRU cells.
After installation and commissioning, the new equipment will increase the safety and stability of the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant's power system.
