Fayzullojon Khursanov, a 4th-year student at the Tashkent branch of NRNU MEPhI, received a patent for the invention "Electroshock Clothing," "Pervy Tekhnichesky" was informed by MEPhI. The development is protective clothing with an integrated electroshock device. The patent was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan.
The main purpose of the clothing is to protect employees of internal affairs bodies and the National Guard from sudden attacks and during mass riots. The device works on the principle of a Faraday cage: the current safely passes over the surface of the clothing without harming the user.
The suit consists of a jacket, trousers, and gloves, which function as a single system. In the working prototype, a thin copper conductor is sewn to the outer fabric. In the future, it is planned to weave a conductive carbon thread directly into the fabric structure, which will make the design more durable and long-lasting. The device is activated by a button on the jacket sleeve.
In the near future, the student plans to create a finished sample, after which – if it complies with state electrical safety standards – to begin mass production. Khursanov is studying in the field of "Nuclear Energy and Thermophysics," and after graduation, he intends to stay at the branch and engage in new developments in the field of energy.
