New generation "4++" Su-35S fighters were seen in camouflage developed for Egypt. However, the aircraft were sent to the Algerian Air Force, reported the Telegram channel "Voevoda veshchaet".
Egypt refused the contract for the purchase of Su-35S under strong pressure from the United States. Media estimated the deal for 24 aircraft at $2 billion.
Foreign researchers estimate the fleet of Su-35S in the Russian Aerospace Forces at approximately 120 aircraft. Serial production of Su-35S is carried out at the Y.A. Gagarin Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant.
Ruslan Pukhov, head of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, stated that the Su-35S surpasses foreign fourth-generation fighters, including the Boeing F-15 and Lockheed Martin F-16, and in terms of combat parameters — the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II.
The Su-35S is capable of sharply soaring upwards at a speed of up to 800 km/h at pitch to attack an appearing target.
