Russians revealed how much they spend monthly on car maintenance

The survey showed car owners' expenses excluding loan payments

The cost of maintaining a personal car varies for Russians, but for most drivers, monthly expenses do not exceed 15 thousand rubles. This conclusion was reached by experts from the Avtostat agency based on a joint survey with the Drive2.Ru portal.

The study was conducted in May–June 2026. Participants were asked not to include car loan payments in their expenses if the car was purchased using borrowed funds.

It turned out that almost 42% of car owners spend less than 10 thousand rubles per month on their car. Another 26.2% of survey participants indicated expenses in the range of 10 to 15 thousand rubles.

Approximately one in seven drivers – 14.3% – spends from 15 to 20 thousand rubles on their car monthly.

Thus, a total of 82% of respondents keep within 15 thousand rubles per month for car maintenance.

At the same time, some drivers have significantly higher expenses. About 18% of the study participants spend more than 20 thousand rubles monthly. For some, the amount is in the range of 20 to 30 thousand rubles, and for a small group of motorists, expenses exceed 50 thousand rubles per month. Such owners accounted for 3.2% among the survey participants.
