Inventors in Kazan have developed a new interceptor drone capable of hunting other drones. The novelty was presented by the company "Peredovye Aviatsionnye Sistemy".
An important detail of the "Malyutka" is its 300-gram warhead in a special compartment. This means it strikes UAVs not with a kinetic impact, but with a fragmentation field. The interceptor can automatically lock onto a target at a distance of up to 1 km.
The drone's flight range reaches 12 km, and it can develop a maximum speed of up to 250 km/h. Loitering occurs at a speed of 140 km/h.
The most popular drone interceptor so far remains "Yolka", which rams aerial targets and brings them down. The use of a warhead in the "Malyutka" will likely allow for more effective combat against drones.
