Where to go - ask the map: Yandex taught AI to suggest leisure activities

The service will consider opening hours, menu, parking, and other conditions in one request

In Yandex Maps, the AI chat has learned to find places for cultural and active leisure. Now you can ask it what exhibitions are currently running in the city, what concert to attend on the weekend, or where festivals are held in July.

The service will not just show points on the map, but will explain what exactly can be seen there. For example, for a query about the Tretyakov Gallery, the neural network will describe current exhibitions and help choose the most suitable one.

Summer scenarios have also been added: the AI chat can suggest beaches, outdoor pools, barbecue spots, or sports grounds. This should simplify the search for options when you don't want to manually sift through dozens of cards and reviews.

Another update is the selection based on several criteria at once. You can write in free form: "We are looking for a place for a company of 5 people, two children, need a play area and parking." The neural network will study information about establishments and reviews, and then offer options that best fit the request.

Yandex says that "Maps" is used by 95 million people every month in the web version and mobile application. Now the service is increasingly transforming not only into a navigator, but also into an assistant for leisure planning.
