At the Nizhny Tagil Metal Structures Plant (NTZMK), the high-speed milling and drilling complex VISTA has been put into operation, designed for processing large-sized beams and columns up to 14 meters long. The new equipment has become one of the most powerful solutions of its class and will significantly increase the accuracy and speed of manufacturing steel structures for industrial and infrastructure construction.
The machine was manufactured by special order, taking into account the production tasks of the enterprise, and expands the possibilities for processing massive metal elements.
The main feature of the new equipment is the ability to perform a full cycle of operations without moving the workpiece. The machine can simultaneously work on five sides of the product, performing milling, drilling, countersinking, marking, and engraving.
The complex's design includes a main rotary milling head with a power of 50 kW, as well as two side heads with a power of 45 kW each. This allows for both rough surface preparation and finishing in automatic mode.
The equipment is designed for impressive part sizes: workpiece length can reach 14 meters, width — 3 meters, and height — 1.8 meters. At the same time, the machine is capable of performing technological drilling of already assembled beams, which reduces the likelihood of errors and increases the accuracy of finished structures.
To install the 140-ton complex, a separate production area of 335 m² was prepared at the enterprise's site. Specialists dismantled part of the existing floors and erected a reinforced foundation designed for vibrational loads from the equipment's operation.
