Turbi Appears in Moscow: Samokat Begins Delivering Orders with Robot Couriers

A new way of receiving purchases is being tested on short routes in certain areas of the city

Samokat has launched a pilot delivery service in Moscow using robot couriers. When placing an order, users can choose between a regular courier, a rover delivery, or self-pickup.

For now, the rovers will handle some short routes in certain areas of the capital. The service expects this to help distribute the workload among partner couriers and eventually expand delivery.

The robot courier was named Turbi. A friendly image and bright design were created for it to make it noticeable on the streets and encourage passers-by to photograph the unusual delivery person.

Robot couriers help make the service even more efficient and delivery more accessible to users.

Turbi has become another participant in the race for autonomous delivery in Moscow. For customers, this is primarily a new option to receive an order, and for the service, it's a way to test how rovers will cope with real urban routes.
