Il-114-300 gets a chance to enter Indonesia: Russia prepares export proposal

Moscow expects to bring the turboprop aircraft to the Southeast Asian market

The Russian regional aircraft Il-114-300 is planned to be offered to Indonesian airlines for purchase or leasing. The potential entry into the Southeast Asian market will be one of the first steps to promote the new aircraft outside Russia after obtaining a type certificate.

The plans for cooperation with the Indonesian side were announced by the head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, at the "Innoprom – 2026" industrial exhibition.

According to the minister, the Russian side considers the development of joint projects with Indonesia in the aviation sector promising. As part of this cooperation, foreign carriers will be offered to consider the possibility of operating the Il-114-300.

The new aircraft is designed for regional routes and is intended for operation in airfields with limited infrastructure. The aircraft is equipped with Russian TV7-117ST-01 turboprop engines and is designed to carry up to 68 passengers.

Alikhanov noted that in terms of economic performance, the Il-114-300 surpasses the European turboprop aircraft ATR 72, which is widely used on regional routes in various countries around the world.

Entry into the Indonesian market is seen as an opportunity to expand the aircraft's export potential. The Indonesian archipelago consists of thousands of islands, so regional aviation plays an important role in providing domestic transportation.
