Foreign equipment for A-100 "Premier" AWACS cannot be replaced

The long-range aircraft will not see the light of day yet

The project for the long-range radar detection and control (AWACS) aircraft A-100 "Premier" has been closed due to the lack of alternatives to foreign components. This was announced by analysts of the "Voevoda Veschaet" project.

It's a pity about the A-100. The machine turned out to be really cool. One of the reasons for closing the project: it is impossible to import-substitute its equipment. At least, at this stage.

Fighterbomber pilot stated that the only "Premier" left the Beriev plant back in 2024 and never returned. The basing location of the experimental model is currently unknown.

Aviation industry expert Alexey Zakharov explained that the impossibility of serial production of the A-100 "Premier" due to component problems is no reason to abandon flight tests.

According to him, some of the equipment developed for the A-100 can certainly be used to modernize existing A-50 family aircraft.
