The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has recorded a surge in the recruitment of minors via the internet. As reported to TASS by the press service of the agency, criminals use fake accounts on social networks, messengers, and gaming chats to involve teenagers in criminal activities.
The scheme is based on an attractive offer of easy part-time work. After obtaining consent, the curator gives instructions: to photograph an infrastructure object, commit arson, or transfer a certain item. The agency emphasized that teenagers rarely realize that their actions can be classified as a terrorist act or sabotage with serious criminal liability.
The Investigative Committee recommends that if such an offer is received, immediately stop communication, take screenshots, block the user, and inform parents, teachers, or the police. Parents are advised to monitor their children's virtual social circle more closely and explain to them that asking for help is not a weakness, but a way to prevent irreparable consequences.
