At the Samara railway station, a presentation of the EP2DM electric train took place – a modified version of the modern platform for suburban transportation, produced since 2023.
The electric train is entirely made from Russian components and is included in the register of domestic industrial products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The train is already successfully operated in Moscow, Moscow Oblast, and St. Petersburg, confirming its reliability and comfort in various regions. The EP2DM is a laureate of the "Priority" National Award, the Russian Railways competition for the best rolling stock quality, and the "Formula of Movement" National Award.
The presentation in Samara opens up prospects for the supply of electric trains to Samara Oblast and other regions of the Volga Federal District. Technical characteristics of the EP2DM: speed – up to 120 km/h, power – 3000 kW, number of seats in a six-car configuration – 586. The train is equipped with automatic driving and safety systems, air conditioners with air disinfection, USB sockets, compartments for bicycles and luggage, and bio-toilets. The service life of the train is 40 years.
