The CPRF faction has appealed to the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, demanding the cancellation or weakening of the Telegram blockade, reports "Gazeta.Ru". Parliamentarians insist: the messenger's slowdown yielded no results, and the collateral damage proved critical.
According to the deputies, the number of crimes using messengers has not decreased; fraudsters continue to call from abroad.
At the same time, push notifications about missile danger and UAV threats in border regions stopped arriving – the emergency alert system, tied to messengers, failed. The costs of the blockade are estimated at tens of billions of rubles.
Earlier, at the end of June, the State Duma already rejected a similar request from the faction to Roskomnadzor and the Ministry of Digital Development. Now, parliamentarians are again demanding information on the effectiveness of the measures taken and considering the possibility of unblocking if the stated goals are not achieved.
