Special switch rails for turnouts have begun to be supplied for Russia's first HSR

In total, 118 turnouts will be required for the construction of the Moscow - St. Petersburg high-speed railway

Deliveries of special switch rails for turnouts of Russia's first high-speed railway Moscow — St. Petersburg have officially started. EVRAZ sent the first batch weighing 48 tons from the rail and beam production in Novokuznetsk to enterprises that will manufacture turnouts.

The recipients of the products were factories in Murom and Novosibirsk. It is here that turnouts intended for the main route of the future high-speed line will be produced.

Switch rails of three standard sizes have been manufactured for the project — 10.8, 15.5 and 29.2 meters long. These products are produced specifically for the manufacture of high-speed turnouts designed for operation on the new main line.

By the end of 2026, the volume of supplies is planned to increase by another approximately 300 tons. This will ensure the production of the necessary number of railway infrastructure elements without disrupting the schedule.

In total, 118 turnouts will be required for the construction of the Moscow — St. Petersburg high-speed railway. To complete the program on time, the Murom and Novosibirsk turnout factories must produce at least four sets of turnouts monthly.
